Accessibility Commitment

Our commitment to digital accessibility for all users.

Last updated: April 2026

Our Commitment

SPEDScribe.ai is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for all users, including people with disabilities. We are committed to conforming to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA and continuously improving the user experience for everyone.

Current Status

We are actively working toward full WCAG 2.1 Level AA conformance. Our platform is designed with accessibility in mind, including:

  • Keyboard navigation support throughout all core workflows
  • Screen reader compatibility with semantic HTML structure
  • Sufficient color contrast ratios meeting WCAG 2.1 AA minimum thresholds
  • Descriptive alt text for all meaningful images and icons
  • Focus indicators on all interactive elements
  • Resizable text without loss of content or functionality

Known Limitations

As a platform in active development, some features may not yet fully meet all WCAG 2.1 Level AA criteria. We are documenting these gaps and addressing them on a rolling basis. Known areas under remediation include:

  • Some complex data tables in the Director Dashboard may not yet have full screen reader support
  • Audio recording controls are being enhanced with additional ARIA labeling
  • PDF export functionality is being evaluated for accessibility compliance

A Voluntary Product Accessibility Template (VPAT) conformance report is in development and will be published when available.

Assistive Technology Compatibility

SPEDScribe.ai is designed to be compatible with current versions of major assistive technologies:

  • Screen readers: JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver (macOS and iOS), TalkBack (Android)
  • Browsers: Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge (current versions)
  • Voice control: Dragon NaturallySpeaking, Voice Control (macOS/iOS)
  • Magnification software: ZoomText, Windows Magnifier
