Present Levels, Goals and Progress Reports, Drafted From Your Own Words

For special education teachers, case managers and education specialists. Dictate a recap after you work with a student. SPEDScribe drafts the session note, and on Pro the present levels (PLAAFP), IEP goals and progress report, for you to review and edit.

Invite-only beta. Governed by FERPA.

How it works

  1. Dictate your recap, right after the session, on your phone or computer. Designed so students are never recorded: providers dictate their own notes.

  2. Review the draft. Each section comes from what you said. A section you said nothing for is tagged for you to fill in, and in a session note, a figure that differs from what you dictated is flagged, though the check cannot see every kind of difference.

  3. Copy it into your IEP system: SEIS, SIRAS, EasyIEP/EDPlan, Frontline, PowerSchool, SameGoal or SpedTrack, or plain text for any other system.

What it drafts

  • Session notes (every account): a SOAP note from your recap, in your discipline's format or a layout you set.

  • Present levels (PLAAFP) (Pro): drafted from your session notes.

  • Annual IEP goals (Pro): drafted from the present levels, and scored for measurability on request: condition, behavior, criterion and timeframe.

  • Progress reports (Pro): drafted against each goal from your notes.

Templates

Templates (Starter and Pro): Start from a special education template in the library, or one of your own.

The tests you give

The Clinical Standards Library lists 15 tests special education teachers give, such as WJ V, KeyMath-3, TOWL-4, Acadience Reading, i-Ready and Star Reading, with publisher, ages and time. Say a test by its full name and the name comes through to the draft.

Students learning English

For a student whose home language is one of 16 California languages, the drafts use that language's L1 reference data, and a grammar error you describe that it does not cover is tagged for your review (in a session note, after your dictated assessment).

Privacy

Governed by FERPA. Names and other identifiers are redacted on our server before your notes go to the AI model; redaction reduces exposure and is not a guarantee. Student data in our database is encrypted at rest (AES-256), under role-based access control, and deletable on request.
